Ben and I are so excited that we have been able to see our families!
In the middle of July my parents came for a visit and we had a great time. We were able to do a lot of wedding things which was great! We had an amazing dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. It was a short weekend but it was great to see my parents. The first weekend in August, Julie and Jesse came for a visit. We had a lot of fun. We went to the Chicago Botanical Gardens which were breath taking. We also went to the Cheesecake Factory and had another fabulous meal. We went shopping and made a trip to Ikea. I love going there and dreaming about what I someday hope to have. Monday was Ben's company picnic. The weather was not the best but cleared once the picnic started and we were able to paddle boating. I forgot how much work that is. Afterwards, Julie took us to Sam's Club which was a great treat. The weather turned bad and then we heard on the radio that there were funnel clouds in the area. It was an interesting ride home but we were glad to be safe. Friday, we left for Manton to golf in the Outdoor Education Tournament with my brother and Ben's dad. It took us forever to get there but it was so worth it. We had an AMAZING time. We golfed on Saturday morning and had a blast. We were teamed up with four women that were hysterical. I think I spent more time laughing than golfing. Unfortunately, it poured most of the time we were golfing. We were so wet and cold. My parents arrived just as we finished and we met them back at Ben's parent's house. Sunday morning we went cannoning with 27 Powells. It was a great time besides the fact that it was cold. It only got up to 68. My parents unfortunately flipped their canoe shortly after we started so it pretty cold for them. Kelly jumped in to help so he was cold too. Michael flipped his kayak towards then end as well. It was a lot of fun.
It was so nice to see family! Hopefully we will see them more often now that Ben's schedule will start to slow down!
